On September 25, 2018, the Department of Justice (DOJ) wrote a letter addressing their affirmation that Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) covers websites; all goods, services, and activities provided to the public must be accessible to all consumers. Websites are indeed a service and therefore should be accessible.
The DOJ has furthered their findings and set the precedent with several cases, specifically the suit against Peapod which requires companies to ensure that their websites and mobile applications are accessible to individuals with disabilities, specifically users with limited manual dexterity.
AbiliTrek is Here for You
Daman Wandke, our Founder and CEO, has a background of IT Accessibility and nine years of experience in both functional and technical Switch testing while working with multinational companies to improve the accessibility of their websites and apps.
Daman has also built a knowledgeable consulting team. Our team has experience improving businesses’ website and mobile applications to ensure compliance with current technology accessibility regulations. We offer a preliminary audit, free of charge that indicates the overall number of problems that could arise for a consumer with a disability. We can then work with you to complete a full audit of your website and provide you with a detailed description of the necessary modifications –both Technical and Functional– regarding compliance with switch control. We can then assist your development team with the remediation process.
AbiliTrek welcomes the opportunity to assist your business in making your technology services more inclusive to people with disabilities.
